International Investment Bank - IIB

INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT BANK:  The International Investment Bank (IIB) is a multilateral institution for development that promotes social and economic development, prosperity, and economic cooperation between its member states.

  • Main directions for its activities are the support of the small and medium-sized businesses and participation in financing socially significant infrastructure projects.
  • The Bank provides loans  prinarity throngh leading domestic publicly owned financial institutions development banks, export and import hanks and agencles, or lends in partnership with other international institutions for development.
  • The IIB was foundesd on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement establishing the International Investment Bank and its Statutes. The agreement was signed hy all the member states of the Bank on July  10, 1970  and registered with the United Nations Secretariat.
  • The Bank is an international intergovernmental organisation that enjoys tax-free and regulation-free status, as well as the support of its member states' governmental bodies.
  • The members of the Bank are Republic of Bulgaria, Hungary, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Republic of  Cuba, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Romania, Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic.
  • The headquarters of the Bank is in Moscow. In April, 2015, the 1IB opened its first European regional office in Bratislava, Slovakin.
  • IIB is a development bank that establishes credit lines for Ntional Development Banks, leading national and international banks of the member states of IIB. It participates in the Syndicated Lending of the investment projects of the member states on the bilateral and multilateral basis.
  • The council of the bank is the highest governing body. It consists of the representatives of the governments and of the central banks of its member states. The board of the bank is the executive managing body.
